Promoting Health & Wellness through Arts, Culture & Education

About Us

A Taste of Culture is a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing the health, wellness, and happiness of youth and young adults through the transformative power of arts, culture, and education. We create uplifting, engaging experiences that help young people discover their talents, build confidence, and envision a hopeful future.

Our programs include talent showcases, dance competitions, art exhibits, job fairs, sports tournaments, debates, educational trips, and other creative activities designed to spark curiosity and joy.

Our Mission

We promote a culture rooted in

love, compassion, honesty, integrity, hard work, respect, learning, gratitude, humility, curiosity, generosity, family, community, and understanding.

We serve marginalized youth, young adults, and seniors — believing deeply that every person, regardless of income, background, gender, race, religion, or immigration status, deserves equal access to opportunity, education, health, and resources.

Our Beliefs

  • Every child deserves peace, safety, and stability — free from fear of hunger, homelessness, or lack of basic needs.

  • Every child deserves to dream — and to have someone who believes in them, nurtures their potential, and equips them with the tools to succeed.

  • Every child deserves hope and a future — one filled with possibility, purpose, and joy.

  • Every child deserves exposure to the world — through travel, cultural exchange, and learning about other nations and communities.

  • Every child deserves a healthy, wholesome life — supported by mentors, resources, and opportunities.

Our goal is to close the gap in access to health, education, vocational training, and enriching experiences — ensuring no young person is left behind.

Who We Serve

Our programs are free for youth and young adults, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent participation. We rely on the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners to make our work possible.

What We Do

We work with students, young adults, mothers and seniors.  We host events and provide resources.  We host talent showcases, resource fairs, town halls, networking events, basketball tournaments,  art contests, brunches, movie days, bridge games, tribute dinners, counselling, college readiness, and assist students in enrolling into college or furthering their education/training etc.  We also connect working women and seniors to resources in the community and help those experiencing housing insecurity with housing, jobs and community resources.

Our Visual Identity

We use birds to represent the children and young adults we serve, reflecting the qualities we hope to nurture in them:

strength, resilience, and the ability to rise higher with unseen support

innocence, peace, gentleness, and everlasting love

beauty, dignity, and confidence

transformation, bravery, and growth
